Bicycle parking Analysis and Actionplan
Task: HOE360 Consulting was in charge of a structured registration and analysis of the city of Frederiksberg’s bicycle parking facilities. 275 places with bicycle parking - a total of more than 8,000 bicycle parking spaces - were examined, which resulted in a report on the number of bicycle parking spaces and occupancy rate and maintenance level for each bike rack. The action plan both took the current situation and the future estimate into account.
Creating value: As a result of the review and registration of the many bicycle parking spaces and the assessment and analysis, proposals were presented pointing to areas suitable for the establishment of new bicycle parking, so the total capacity could be increased.
Background: As is the case in most of Denmark’s other densely populated towns and neighbourhoods, Frederiksberg is experiencing a steadily growing need for functional and properly positioned bicycle parking.
Special features: An assessment method was the preparation of a geographic information system (GIS) theme with the status of the number of bike racks, the number of parked bicycles, maintenance levels and forward-looking initiatives.
