Cargo Bike Parking facility
Task: For use in Malmö, Sweden, HOE360 Consulting developed a design line and bike rack specifically for cargo bikes, at the three newly built train stations. The focus was especially on ensuring a behavioural design and optimizing the use by cargo bike users. Part of the assignment consisted of planning and conducting a workshop for Malmo city as well as coordinating with other parts of the station buildings.
Value Creation: The special design, which was created in a process with City of Malmö's traffic department, enables parking optimized for cargo bikes, which was a dire need. The design is crafted in a way that complicates the parking of ordinary bicycles. These users may therefore be more inclined to use the traditional bicycle parking racks.
Background: The described design concept was developed as part of the construction of three new train stations on the line serving Copenhagen and Malmö.
