Even that cycling is fare from a new invention, todays students wish to be part in developing new cycling related products and solutions to keep cycling on the forefront of transport modes. Weissensee School of Art therefore had cycling as a theme for their Product development and design students.
What we did: HOE360 Consulting was guest teaching giving inspirational lectures highlighting cycling as a tool in creating great urban life and how related products and solutions facilitates that. Followed by a 2-day workshop, supporting the Master students in developing their ideas and solutions.
The impact: At the second visit after the Master students had time to work on their projects was about giving feedback, commenting and advising on the student’s work and progress, preparing them for examination and exhibiting their work.

Buenos Aires is a pioneer city in making fast and efficient progress.
In 2008 the city basically had no cycle infrastructure, by 2013 the city had established 150 kilometers of bike paths and a public bike-share system. Their modal split went in the period from 0.4% to 3.5%, a level where it’s relevant to begin talking about the 'critical mass'.
What we did: The daily presentations and subsequent workshops where focusing on a variety of urban bicycle related themes. This was combined with site visits where coaching and discussions with the city representatives on possible solutions took place.
The impact: Keeping Buenos Aires on track and further build on the impressive work done and inspire them to take their cycling work to the next level, moving from first generation cycling infrastructure to a 2.0 edition.
